Osamu Niwa received his Ph.D. from the Department of Applied Chemistry, Kyushu University in 1990. He joined NTT Corporation in 1983. He was a Group Leader at NTT Lifestyle and Environmental Technology Laboratories from 1999 to 2004 and a Group Leader in National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) from 2004 to 2015. His research interests include new nanocarbon films for biosensing and electroanalytical applications, surface Plasmon resonance-based devices and systems
