Dr. Maiga Chang is Associate Dean (research and innovation) and Full Professor in the School of Computing and Information Systems at Athabasca University, Canada. He is also Honorary Chair Professor at Multidisciplinary Academic Research Center, National Dong Hwa University, Taiwan. Dr. Chang has been Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers’ (IEEE) Member for twenty-six years since 1996 and is now Senior Member. He has been appointed as IEEE Computer Society Distinguished Visitor on artificial intelligence (AI) and Chatbots from 2023 to 2025. Dr. Chang’s research mainly focuses on areas such as game-based learning, training and assessment, learning behavior analysis, learning analytics and academic analytics, intelligent agent technology, health informatics, data mining, computational intelligence, natural language processing, artificial intelligence, museum education mobile learning and ubiquitous learning, and healthcare technology.
Dr. Chang is Vice President (2022~) of the International Association of Smart Learning Environments (IASLE).
